# Labeled dimensions

Hello

Im using tiledb-py. Is there any idea when labeled dimensions will be implemented and available ?

I did ask this question back in Dec 21.  
In [his reply](https://forum.tiledb.com/t/how-are-axes-labels-currently-implemented/411/3), @stavros suggested it would be implemented in Q1 of 2022, but I don’t think it happened?

Hi @cokelid and @royassis. I am actively working on implementing this feature. It is currently available experimentally through the C-API on the TileDB-Core development branch only. Work on designing the Python API for dimension labels will begin in the next week or two.

Hi! I know this is an old thread, but I’m curious, are dimension labels done and ready for use in the python api? [This PR](https://github.com/TileDB-Inc/TileDB-Py/pull/1640) makes it look like it’s been done for a year, but [the docs](https://docs.tiledb.com/main/background/data-model) say it’s “under development”.
